According to the National Infrastructure Commission, the Cambridge-Oxford ARC is set to set a population increase of over 1 million and a growth in employment of 1.1 million between now and 2050. Milton Keynes is located right in the middle of the ARC and therefore faces a major growth opportunity. We are pleased to be working with David Lock Associates in delivering this important project, which will set out proposals for how Milton Keynes and surrounding areas can use spatial planning to maximise the impact of future growth. Our role is in developing future economic scenarios and interpreting these into implications for spatial development (size, scale, type and location).
Ortus Economic Research is delighted to have been commissioned, in partnership with Professor Tim Vorley of Sheffield University, to support the development of their Inclusive Growth Strategy. The project is focused on identifying key sector specialisms in Doncaster and making recommendations regarding how these might be developed to support inclusive growth. In addition, our brief is to support the integration of sector specialisms into the Inclusive Growth Strategy, due for publication in late 2018. A draft version of the Inclusive Growth Strategy is available here.
